So long as you "have" the needed DLC you can use Workshop content that includes it in your parks (depending on in-game restrictions like have you researched everything needed for it, etc). DAT is meant for custom rides or scenery. The DLC can be purchased or subscribed to. Games downloads - RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 by Frontier Developments and many more programs are available Windows Mac. Last fall I put up a custom scenario in the workshop, it includes stuff from the Adventure Pack DLC, Vintage Pack DLC, and World's Fair Pack DLC (links on the page under "Required DLC"): Share Your Creativity: Whether it’s a magnificent ice cream shop or the world’s most thrilling coaster, build it, name it and share it with the planet. If you're playing on Windows (and Mac I think, but not compatible with consoles), you can use my fountain in any park that has all the pieces that I used to make it available or researched. Browse and download content from your favorite creators, or choose from the latest designs selected by the Planet Coaster dev team. Lay the paths for your new park, then build up the scenery around it, and then turn your attention to the rides, the other attractions, the unique components, and so on. For example, in 2018 I made a fountain with new "free" stuff from the 1.70 update and a piece from the Vintage Pack DLC released at the same time: Features of Planet Coaster - One piece at the time - With the help of the Piece-by-Piece tool for constructions, you will become a theme park designer in no time. A lot of workshop stuff include scenery bits from specific DLC.
